Please find below an email from the Sailors Society. If you would like to go please contact me ASAP.

Hello Andy
I have received some information from a Mr John Bull about an event he is trying to organise for any merchant seafarers who may have been involved in the Normandy Landings, convoys etc.  The event involves a boat trip along the Thames , free of charge with lunch.  Bar facilities will be available and the limit of numbers onboard is 50.  I wondered if any of the PWSTS old boys might be interested in such an event?  Below I have typed a copy of the letter from Mr Bull and wonder if you could circulate the information to your members.  I have flyers and application forms and will post these to you if you think there will be interest.

Your comments would be most welcome.

With kind regards,
Ann Brogan

Dear Mrs Jan Webber

I am at this moment of making an application for a Lottery grant and have been informed that funds will be available.  Have enclosed questionnaire to be completed and returned SAP with details of the intended River Thames Boat Trip, August 22nd, confirmation at a later date, which questionnaires are sent off
The intended arrangements are as follows:
To board Kingfish at Westminster Pier 10.30 hrs approx for a four hour trip to Upper Thames .  The boat trip will be free and a packed lunch will be provided, which may also include a Pie & Mash.  Bar facilities will be available at very reasonable prices.  Am keeping a limit to persons onboard to approx 50.  It is hope to get many veterans MN and RN lads will be pleased to be in the company of sailors.  The RN lads are veterans of D Day,Russian/Atlantic/Pacific convoys and other skirmishes.  I await your reply with questionnaire and other queries you may have.  Post me receipts for postage of which I will reimburse.
Regards,
John Bull
