I am responsible for gathering the names (information) of Jersey born merchant seamen who were killed during the two world wars for the Merchant Seamens Memorial we have in the Maritime Museum. I noticed in a report of the unveiling of one of your societys memorials in Ingham Church that one of the men was Charles F De La Haye from Jersey. Do you have any information as to what happened to him. On the memorial we inscribe the name, position and the name of the ship under the relevant year.
I would be most grateful if you could furnish me with any information of this nature about other former trainees that you believe would be eligible to be placed on our memorial.
Best wishes Doug Ford doug.ford@jerseymail.co.uk
