The St Dunstan's dinner is £30 with wine on arrival, three-course dinner and singer Stephen Fitton. The RAF Band, Jill Daniels and the Irish Guard singers are £10 or £8 for Veterans badge holders. The Cadets Barbecue and Disco are £3 including a burger. Stage provided by the councils Positive Futures Youth scheme, Disco by Dune FM and food by Altcar army caterers.
Tony Parkinsons D-Day talk is £2 from 14-00 to 16-00. The RAF Regimental Band will lead the British Armed Forces Day Parade from Chapel St, to form at 10-30, two minuets silence at the cenotaph at 11-00 and a march past on Nevile St. The Veterans Golf Day is £800 a team, refreshments on arrival, golf, trophies, three-course meal and entertainment by comedian and Radio Merseyside presenter Sean Styles, with raffle and auction.
The Veterans Fund provides this event to raise awareness to veterans and we are trying to raise funds to build a Veteran Centre in Southport . The centre will be for the use of all Veterans and associations complete with meeting rooms, function rooms, restaurant, offices for ex-service organisations and a local Military History Museum .
