We have. at long, long last, and after two and half years production work, now completed our new TV Documentary The Worst Journey in the World a 65 min programme that for the first time, tells the story of those notorious WW2 Arctic Convoys in amazing visual detail.
With a rare combination of live material and rare archive film, this unique programme manages to capture exactly what it was like to have sailed in those horrendous convoys as they not only battled against endless attacks from the enemy U-boats, surface craft and Luftwaffe, but also against the most severe weather conditions as they took their precious cargoes to the beleaguered Russian cities of Archangel and Murmansk.
This programme has been made for Television broadcast but such a broadcast might be many months and so many of you have asked to be able to see it now. So we have produced, just for our Snowbow/Maritime Memories people, a very limited pre-release number of DVDs just for you to be able to view it at home now!
I doubt that we will have been allowed to produce enough to satisfy demand, so it will be a case of first come, first served Im afraid.
All I can say is; it really is something quite special and will be of such great interest to anyone interested in ships or WW2, but of even greater interest to those of you who served, or had relations that served aboard convoys during WW2... especially those that served in the Arctic Convoys.
I have attached a copy of the sleeve design for you to look at; this design features a magnificent painting by Robert Bailey titled Arctic Encounter, copies of which, are also available through Snowbow.

For anyone who missed the very interesting PQ17 TV programme, the link below is to BBC i-player for replaying the programme click on the white arrow in the pink square on the left hand side of the photo with Jeremy Clarkson. It was good to see the interview with Len Dibb Western of our Bristol Branch.
No offence John, you are right. Although I was at the opposite end of the top brass scale I could still see that the decision to leave the convoy was disgraceful. Equally disgraceful is the time it's taken this country to officially recognise the heroes involved in the convoys.
On a separate note, although I think Clarkson is a nob I thought he did an excellent job in explaining the situation, especially when he was stood outside the imperial war museum. If you haven't seen the documentary I recommend you do even if you are familiar with the story.
