I am researching my Great Grandfather who was in the Royal Navy during the 
Second World War. He was involved with escorting Atlantic convoys including 
convoy SC7 in October 1940.

I have been reading the account of this convoy in the book by Lund and 
Ludlum, 'Night of the U Boats', and also saw a documentary on National 
Geographic Channel (made in 2010) which had interviews with some of the 
veterans.

I am really keen to try to see if any of these men are alive and might be 
willing to discuss it with me, since I never met my Great Grandfather. I 
know that much time has passed since then and men would be very elderly, but 
I am trying nevertheless to record information before it is too late.

If you know how it might be possible to trace veterans, then I'd be very 
grateful to hear from you.
