Great to see all the old rogues, as pictured at the top of this section, all together again!
Mostly sober, at least they were when I left, and great company!!!!
I sat at the table in "the Minnories" and thought, as my old mum would say, "If the devil would cast his net now"!
Many thanks for your help lads, and to the ladies for looking after the bag for the standard for me, during the service.
What the hell happened during the two mins silence? I thought the RN honour guard would be at the present arms during that, but to hear the Wren officer call out "Stand at ease" halfway through, disgusted me! And how can a pipe band accompany hymns?
Looking again at the picture at the top of this section, there was one obvious absentee!
Creeper where are you? We all missed you mate - NOT the food - NOT the drink - but YOU mate!
Since my computer went up the swannee, I no longer have your email address but was going to ask you when I saw you.
Good weekend all round. Great to see all the lads again and have to agree that Creeper was greatly missed and hope that he is OK. Marching into a naval tune would have been better than Scottish Soldier! The hymn singing didn't go down well either, couldn't make out if they were playing too slow or we were singing too fast maybe a combination of both! It was great that we could all meet up in the Minories Saturday night and after the service on Sunday, at least we all managed a conversation without having to shout and getting to the bar was a lot easier!
I have just come off the phone after speaking to the Admiral Creeper. He is okay just a little under the weather so he couldnt face the trip. He was pleased that his shipmates are concerned about him and states he will return next year.
In true Creeper form his parting words were Tell them nosey sods to bugger off
I am so sorry everyone. I was called into work and managed only to send a text to Roger apologising for my absence. Two train tickets to London wasted (not even overtime). Roll on my early retirement as this week has been a bitch.
Dave has sent some photographs, thanks Dave. These are now on the main web site but as youve already mentioned I was surprised that the Creeper was AWOL. I have just tried to call him but the call went unanswered. I have left a voicemail and will try again later. Please let me know if you would like his number.
By the way everyone looks great in the photos. A fine body of men, very smart indeed fellas, well done.
