A message from the Mission Port Chaplains, The British and
International Seafarers, and the Flying Angel Club( Mission to Seafarers):
To Inform the Association that the three Plaques relating to the loss
of the "Atlantic Conveyor" during the Falklands war, and which were on the replacement ship, are now in the chapel of the Southampton Seafarers Centre.
The Plaques are :-
1. The Memorial Plaque, commemorating those who lost their lives, including the Master Ian North.
2. The Falklands Battle Honour.
3. The Admiralty Board Plaque, of recognition of the part played by the ship in the conflict.
There will be a commemoration and rededication of the plaques in the
evening at the Ascension Day service on Thursday 15th may at 1930 at the Mission.
All are welcome to join in the act of remembrance. The Merchant Navy
Standard will be carried, and it is the M.N.A. monthly evening meeting after the service.
