For many years we locally have had a problem with getting our local councils to fly the Red Ensign on our day. This year we have possibly made great strides in so much that all our councils have decided to have ceremonies to hoist the ensign followed by publicity for the Mayor and a drink for Seamen attending. Trouble is that we have three councils! Margate, Ramsgate & Broadstairs.
In order to to put our money where our mouth has been, we now have to somehow attend all three events. Therefore, this year I feel I should attend the local services, and NOT attend the Dover services as before. I hope you will not be upset, but having campaigned for this change for so long, I feel I must support the Vindicatrix crew!
