On Sunday 8th October 2006 the Green Beret Royal Marine Commando Association will be laying up their old standard and re-dedicating their new standard. They would like our support on parade.
The parade will form up at 10:30 hours by the Lifeboat Station, The Strand, Walmer, Kent. The church service will be held at St Saviours on the Strand.
After the parade a buffet and raffle will be held at the Royal British legion, Downs Branch, Market Street, Dover.
If any PWSTS boys would like to support the Green Beret Royal Marine Commando Association either contact the PWSTS Society or Mr Malcolm Jarrett on 01304 368554.
The PWSTS Standard is currently in Dover.

"The parade went very well, with 20 odd standard bearers attending, and now that I know some of them from Tower hill and Dover, we had a great morning with lots of back-chat. Our standard was given pride of place leading the parade to the church, next to the Green Beret's own, with the other standards following. It made a nice change to hear the list of priority, with the Merchant Navy standards before the Royal Navy's!
It was a nice sunny morning, with a full church. However, the young vicar had an electronic mike strapped to this throat, but got so excited that he kept deviating from his own printed running order, very much to the annoyance of the Royal Marine Staff Sergeant who was organising the Standard bearers. How we all kept from dissolving in to hysterics I will never know! A great day!" Roger.....
Our sincere thanks go to Roger Head for attending with our standard and for effecting necessary repairs to the flag. Recent events had caused the seam to run. We are proud that we have our original standard but it does require constant attention due to its age. I think that you’ll all agree that our original standard is far better than a shiny new one.
There is much talk of our Standard being invited to other outings.
