Hi, THAT WAS A GREAT POST AND WONDERFUL IDEA COLIN.

IN NEWCASTLE (NSW) WE HAVE A POLISHED GRANITE SEAFARERS MEMORIAL ON PARKLAND FACING THE HUNTER RIVER. I TOOK A PHOTO ONE TIME BUT DIDN'T REALISE THAT MY REFLECTION WAS SHOWING ON THE POLISHED GRANITE SO THIS WOULD BE AN EXCELLENT REASON FOR ME TO RETURN TO GET A DECENT PHOTOGRAPH.

AS ITS NEARLY OPPOSITE THE MOBILE PIE TRUCK THATS ANOTHER REASON TO MAKE A VISIT, STU

Hi Colin – funny you should ask that question as this morning I had a telephone call from a lady who runs the Dover War Memorial Project. The Dover War Memorial Project team are interested in the PWSTS WW2 Plaque returning to Ingham and may attend the service on Sunday 20th May.

As for adding our own war memorials to the web site. How about using this page on the forum as the extra work load for me would be far too much? Unless someone else would like to start a web page and we will link to it.

Took a look at the web site, the church in the background looks famililar, does anyone remember which church the C-o-E boys attended.

Sax the church in the High Street (in the town) is called St Mary's

The boys attended Christchurch (Folkestone Road) but it was knocked down in the 70's. Afterwhich they went to the above (Jenny's 95% sure)

I am not trying to out do anybody here but the church in the background on the web site is acctually the Dover Town Hall .
When I was there we used to march down to St Marys as we were C of E so what Jenny said sounds right .
We got Confirmed while at the PWSTS but it was a special trip to St Nicholas at Wade near Birchington in Thanet . I still have the little Bible with letter still in it some where .
