Lifeboat Tea. From: Mark Spruce Sent: Thursday, February 11, 2010 8:43 AM
Dear all I wanted to bring your attention to a product many of you I suspect will not be aware of, Lifeboat Tea. http://www.lifeboattea.co.uk/
The product was originally created after the fastnet race in 1979 when a Tea company employee was rescued by the RNLI. The product is now owned by Williamsons Tea who are trying to make this a mainstream product to compete with the likes of Typhoo and PG Tips. The RNLI receives 7p for every box of tea sold ( 80 bags per box)
As well as being available online and through our souvenir shops the tea should now be available through Waitrose stores. Obviously the more people that buy it the more attractive the product becomes to the other stores such at Tesco and Asda. If you click on the link below and then on the tab "Buy Me" you will see in the window near the bottom of the page
Sorry if I sound like a salesman for Williamsons but I do believe through our network of supporters we can greatly increase the sales of this product and thereby raise significant income for the RNLI.
This e mail should now be going out to nearly 200 supporters
Please pass this on to all your friends. If Facebook users can make "Rage Against The Machine" the number one song last Christmas, maybe Lifeboat supporters can make Lifeboat tea the number one Tea!
Best wishes Mark
