Hello to everyone out there -Do any of you have any contacts for veterans from the MAC ships and in particular any Swordfish pilots or anyone from the Empire Mackendrick ? My Dad flew swordfish and I am keen to try and help him meet some old colleagues -before its too late.
Graeme try contacting the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton in Somerset on +44 (0) 1935 840565. They have details of a group who look after the Swordfish (still flies) and will more than likely have some old boys involved. http://www.fleetairarm.com/
Info forwarded to Graeme King whose email has been corrected from before graemeking@hotmail.com
I have spoken to Eric and the RN Historic Flight is now managed by the RN Fly Navy Heritage Trust. He suggests going on their website and emailing them as they should be able to help this chap further, he also suggested going onto the Fleet Air Arm Museum website because they have archives there and may carry out some research to search for Mr Kings flying records. The website addresses are www.fnht.co.uk/ and www.fleetairarm.com/
